Construction Notes
- The decision as to the type of construction, overhead or underground, single phase or multi-phase,
shall be the discretion of the Cooperative.
- In the event facilities are requested to be installed in frozen ground, rock or in areas in which
excavation is abnormal and difficult, the member/consumer/developer or contractor shall pay an
additional amount equal to the extra cost of installation due to such conditions.
- The cost of clearing right-of-way of trees and heavy brush and/or the purchase of right-of-way
required to make an extension shall be considered in establishing the minimum charge.
- An additional contribution in aid to construction may be requested whenever the actual cost of
construction exceeds the standard or estimated cost by 130 percent.
- Existing Line Rights: During the first five years from the installation of the line, whenever new
consumers are added to the primary line, the cost of construction will be recomputed based on the
number of consumers. The individual contributions in aid to construction will also be recomputed
based on the greater number of participants. Members with contributions higher than the new computed
amounts will receive a refund of the difference.
